Robert Plant Announces New Album Carry Fire for October 2017 Release

Robert Plant has announced details for his new studio album, Carry Fire, set to be released on October 13th on Nonesuch Records, as reported by Spin. The record is Plant’s first studio release since 2014’s Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar and will again feature his backing band The Sensational Space Shifters.

While there have been rumors circulating ever since Led Zeppelin reunited to perform at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in 2007, Plant has repeatedly shot down speculation that the legendary band will ever perform again, despite the alleged offers the band has been given to play live. It would appear that Plant is sticking to his word now that he has once again resumed his solo career. Plant has released the first single from Carry Fire, the acoustic stomp of “The May Queen” which can be streamed in the player below. The song continues Plant’s folk-influenced work, riding a gentle acoustic guitar line combined with a set of strong vocal lines.

Carry Fire Tracklist:

  1. The May Queen
  2. New World…
  3. Season’s Song
  4. Dance With You Tonight
  5. Carving Up The World Again… a wall and not a fence
  6. A Way With Words
  7. Carry Fire
  8. Bones Of Saints
  9. Keep It Hid
  10. Bluebirds Over The Mountain
  11. Heaven Sent
