San Diego’s famous Ye Scallywag festival is headed back to the Waterfront Park on October 21. The day-long music and beer festival is celebrating it’s 21st year. This year’s headliner Pennywise will be playing a couple shows in Japan this weekend, then they’ll head to North America for the next leg of their tour, of course stopping at the Ye Scallywag festival.
Other festival participants such as The band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes featuring NOFX’s Fat Mike, Lagwagon’s Joey Cape, and members of Swingin’ Utters, and Foo Fighters, who play various punk covers have been touring all year in support of their greatest hits album, Rake It In: The Greatestest Hits.
The band Strung Out will also be performing at this years festival. The punk rock band has various shows planned throughout North America in September. The band has released eight studio albums together since their debut Another Day In Paradise in 1994. Other bands playing throughout the day include The Vandals, Lagwagon, The Adolescents and Western Settings.
As far as beer and food goes local food trucks will be on site all day. tastings will be available until 4p.m. After 4p.m., Scallywag will have several brewers and wineries on hand for all your alcoholic needs. You have to be 21+ to get in.
