Weird Al Kindly Asks North Korea Not to Nuke Us on John Oliver with Accordion-Driven Polka Song

“Weird Al” Yankovic gave a quite the energetic performance Sunday night on John Oliver’s HBO show, “Last Week Tonight”. As reported by Pitchfork, John Oliver discussed the growing tensions between The United States and North Korea during a segment in which he tries to draw out our misunderstandings, “through the international language of accordion”.

Oliver then invites Yankovic to the stage for an upbeat and hilarious performance. During the song Yankovic begs North Korea not to, “turn us into cinder while we’re swiping right on Tinder,” and also says, “We’re just a bunch of simple, fidget-spinning, goofy dorks who probably couldn’t find your country on a map”. He also made sure North Korea knew, “We don’t hate you, frankly we don’t even think that much about you – no offense!” He also brought up actor Tom Hanks saying, “Oh why in the world would you kill Tom Hanks? / Because nobody doesn’t like Tom Hanks!”
