The Script @The Fox Theater (10/13)

San Francisco’s truly going to become the next Hall of Fame after concert date announced by the one and only, The Script! The band will in town performing this October Friday 13th at The Fox Theater, so better get ready!

The Script’s formation and success story is quite something, as its history goes back to a former Irish-based group; where Danny O’Donoghue and Mark Sheehan (guitarist) were part of, but due to a not very successful career, the band decided to part different ways. Later on, both O’Donoghue and Sheehan moved to L.A. where in 2001 they met their current drummer, Glen Power; it was in that moment and after on, that the band identified and described themselves as a “Celtic Soul” trio, and the rest is just history.
The Script’s contemporary R&B and pop-rock sound’s really unique as it is based on many different artists such as U2, The Neptunes, Van Morrison and Timbaland. This sound can be deeply appreciated in their first album, The Script, which included their very influential debuts “We Cry” and “Breakeven”, which would become particularly famous in both Ireland and the U.K. In 2008, after the release of their first album, the band performed in one of UK.’s largest music festivals – Glastonbury Festival, which would place the trio as one of the most popular newcomer bands, and would give the band the opportunity to open several shows for both Paul McCartney and U2 in 2009. In 2011 the band released their second album, Science & Faith, which was a pretty great hit, but it wasn’t until the release of their third album in 2012, where the band would reach for the first time such worldwide recognition with the singles “Superheroes” and “Hall of Fame” ft. will.i.am. The latter song’s been their most successful single up until now, as it has reached the Top Ten in more than 20 countries – opening them the way for a wider audience as we can appreciate now that they’re coming to back to Cali – the band’s true origins.

So, prepare yourself for a Good Ol’ Days performance full of the band’s best hits after a three-year break-up, and for the band’s newest singles “Divided States of America,” “Rain” and “Written in the Scars” from their fifth album Freedom Child!
