The National Releases Slow Tempo New Song “Carin At The Liquor Store”

One of the most consistent bands out there today is The National who continues to make music that inspires and moves the soul. No matter where you are, you hear a song by The National, you know you are listening to something real.

“Carin at the Liquor Store” is the new track by The National which was unveiled today accompanied by an impactful video. The new track is the third song released by the band and is off their upcoming new album, Sleep Well Beast, their seventh studio album which will be due out September 8. Both “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness” and “Guilty Party” were released earlier this year.

The video for “Carin at the Liquor Store” was directed by Casey Reas, filmed by La Blogotheque and edited by Matthew Miller. An evocative ballad, the new track conveys vivid imagery as singer Matt Berninger sings lyrics such as, “I see you in stations and on invitations / You’d fall into rivers with friends on the weekends / Innocent skies above. Reas captures the band performing the song using a negative film filter which works here as it fitting to the mood.

After releasing as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, the song, “Carin at the Liquor Store” is now available to purchase anywhere music is bought or streamed.
