Underneath the pouring rain in Montreal, Quebec, English singer songwriter Lorde included cover of “Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole” by Martha Wainwright to her set-list at the 12th annual Osheaga Festival last weekend, a song choice the audience clearly enjoyed. Another surprise for her unsuspecting audience was a guest performance from Tove Lo for Lorde’s song “Homemade Dynamite.”
Giving an incredibly warm welcome and a little background information, Lorde announced “I wrote all the songs on Melodrama with one person, and she was the one extra I wrote a song with and I had such a great time with her.”
She continued, “So when she comes out onto the stage Osheaga, I need you to give her your very biggest welcome is that understood?” And the crowd definitely delivered after the singer appeared on stage. Checkout footage from both the Martha Wainwright cover and the Tove Lo appearance below.
Unfortunately for the fans at Lollapalooza, Lorde’s set had to come to a quick close due to nasty weather conditions during the performance. Her next festival stops will be at Outside Lands in mid August, Bumbershoot on Sept. 1-3, and Life is Beautiful in late September.
Lorde will be going on tour in fall 2017 and has already announced the itinerary. If you’re looking to binge listen to the singer before you catch her live performances or just want little more Lorde on your playlist, check out her newest releases “Sober” and “Perfect Places.”
