GWAR “Murders” American Authors Lead Singer at Vans Warped Tour

GWAR has struck again, shamelessly leaving yet another casualty on the Vans Warped Tour stage. This time, the victim was American Author’s lead singer Zac Barnett, who was performing during the set when all of a sudden the members of GWAR took over the stage to brutally “murder” the singer with the gnarliest weapons they could lay their hands on. Lucky for us who couldn’t attend Warped Tour this year, the bloody attack was caught on video and lasts for about a minute and a half. Scroll below to catch footage of the craziness that unfolded.

This definitely wasn’t the first victim to be ruthlessly murdered at the hands of GWAR and there’s no saying it’s going to be the last. While filling in for Jamey Jasta, the Stick to Your Guns lead singer was also killed onstage in the middle of Hatebreed’s performance. Then week prior, Beefcake of GWAR crashed the Silverstein set to murder the Bassist, and proceeded to perform on stage.

Getting their start in 2006, American Authors is a rock band based in New York who were behind the hit songs “Believer” and “Best Day of My Life,” from their 2014 album Oh What A Life. “Best Day of My Life” currently has over 148 million hits on YouTube and has been featured in a ton of commercials and even a movie trailer. They were previously known as The Blue Pages, until their official name change in 2012 to American Authors.
