Neil Young, who has hosted his Bridge School benefits concert, will be releasing a new album Hitchhiker on September 8th through Reprise Records. This was a solo studio album recorded in 1976 at Indigo Studio in Malibu, California.

The ten record album was produced by long time studio collaborator David Briggs. This album contains solo acoustic songs that Young recorded over a course of one day during his time in Malibu, such as Comes a Time and Rust Never Sleeps. The song Hitchhiker can be heard below.

This album is considered to be long lost due to its four decades of being on the side. The album was recorded between Zuma and American Stars and Bars. During the time of recording, the room only had Young, Briggs and actor Dean Stockwell. According to the press release, the recordings were described to be a “simplicity of a single voice and guitar captured” with it being “as purely and powerful as it gets”.
