Last year, legendary former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic created a new band called, Giants in the Trees, along with Erik Friend, Jillian Raye, and Ray Prestegard. The band has been playing around their home state of Washington, but according to Billboard, last week they released the music video for their debut single titled, “Sasquatch.” The video features all the band makes walking through a majestic forest-like scenery.
Novoselic joked with fans on social media saying, “I bought the property the video is filmed on”. “To pay for the production I cut all the trees and am now building a golf course on the land,” he told watchers in the “Sasquatch” YouTube comments. “This video cost over $2 million to make. The reason is, it was shot on a sound-stage and all of the flora is made from plastic, foam and other materials to get that natural look.”
According to the band’s Facebook page, the members met each other through their involvement with their local Grange organization, which is a service devoted to family based agriculture and economic improvement, in Skyway, Washington. Given their background, you shouldn’t be surprised that the band interest list includes Inclusive Democracy, Humanity, Humility, Peace, Prosperity, and more. Truly the foundations for a peaceful world and a healthy life.
