Father John Misty released the official music video for his track “Things It Would’ve Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution”. The video is a stop-motion animation of a post-apocalyptic city through which the main character mopes lifelessly through as he observes the ruin of his society. The track and its video, along with the entirety of the tracks that comprise Father John Misty’s latest album Pure Comedy, act as a heavily emotional and rapidly awakening metaphor aimed at depicting the meaningless existence that most people in modern-day society lead. Father John Misty utilizes a array of satire aimed at degrading our president, our political system, and society at large.
The video was artistically directed by Chris Hopewell, and produced with the combined efforts of Jacknife Films and Rosie Lea Brind.
Father John Misty is straying away from social media, but has expressed that he is working on new album which is expected to drop in 2018. He is currently on tour for his album Pure Comedy, and recently made an appearance at Monterey Pop Festival’s 50th Anniversary in June.
