Garbage Releases New Dream Fueled Anxiety Song “No Horses”

Legendary alternative rock group Garbage have released a new single, the sprawling “No Horses.” The song rides a series of dark electronics and triggered drums over which frontwoman Shirley Manson howls a series of politically and socially conscious lyrics.

While featuring many trappings of modern music in its production and instrumentation, the song still recalls vintage Garbage and shows that they are still a force to be reckoned with in the modern music scene. In fact, the swirling synths and processed guitars give the song a burst of energy as it twists and turns through its 5-minute run time. Garbage will donate all of the profits from “No Horses” to the International Committee of the Red Cross for the rest of 2017 and 2018.

Garbage have been tearing up the road this year, particularly this summer as part of the Rage & Rapture tour with Blondie. The tour recently landed at the Hollywood Bowl, where alternative music fans were treated to a seminal performance from both bands.

Garbage have also recently released an autobiographical coffee table book, THIS IS THE NOISE THAT KEEPS ME AWAKE, which features never seen photographs of the band and pieces written by each band member. The book chronicles the history of the band, from their rise in the alternative rock scene of the 1990’s to their current run of critically acclaimed albums and tours. Recently mxdwn sat down with Manson for an interview which shed light on the current state of the band and their current tour with Blondie.

UPDATE (8/8) Garbage have recently released a new music video for “No Horses” which you can view in the Youtube player below:
