Foster the People Release Subdued but Danceable Pop Gem “Sit Next To Me”

With just a few days until their latest album Sacred Hearts Club comes out, Foster the People have released another new single. This one, “Sit Next To Me” has lounge-y atmosphere with some funky guitar riffs, snapping rhythms and a falsetto lead vocal from Mark Foster. The song is pretty much in line with what most music fans have come to expect from the Los Angeles alternative pop group, unlike their last single “Loyal Like Sid & Nancy,” which featured EDM flourishes.

The band broke out with their 2011 debut Torches, which featured the inescapable radio hit “Pumped Up Kicks.” The band followed that hit record up with their sophomore album in 2014, Supermodel. While their second LP received mixed reception from the critics, it did well commercially and debuted at #3 on the Billboard charts.

The band is currently on tour in support of Sacred Hearts Club, which is scheduled for a July 21, 2017 release date via Columbia Records. Check out their remaining tour dates below.
