Public Enemy Release New Album Nothing Is Quick In The Desert Early with Free Download

Public Enemy has released a new album Nothing Is Quick In The Desert with this album having a free download available to the fans, after having said that the album would release in July. According to Pitchfork, Public Enemy has made this release free as a way to celebrate the group’s thirtieth anniversary. The free download will be available through the midnight of  July 4th on the group’s Bandcamp.

In a tweet, Chuck D states ” “WE thank you & THIS is on US.” The album consists of thirteen records that has appearances by Ice-T, PMD, Easy Mo Bee, Sammy Vegas and Solé. The production of the album took place with the help of David Snyder, Stetsasonic’s Daddy-O, DJ Pain 1, Mike Redman, Dejuan Boyd, JP Hesser and Public Enemy’s Professor Griff and DJ Lord. The album is said to have a blend of social messages. The album tracklist and artwork are shown below.

According to Rolling Stone, Chuck D says in a statement that the album is how an average person looks at the record industry. He says “Nothing Is Quick In The Desert‘ is a saying I use when the average person looks at the record industry. It looks dead like a desert. But there’s plenty of life in the desert when one is educated on what they see and hear. There, a cactus absorbs and stores water deep in its root, taken from the air itself and certain creatures thrive in that dry heat whereas the average cannot. It pays to be above average (or well below it) in the desert for survival. The music industry is similar in that analogy. It’s still in motion, it just needs redefinition.”
