Heavy metal record label, Southern Lord has partnered up with New York City based rock band, Unsane with the release of their eighth studio album, Sterilize. The new album is set to be released on September 29th but today the band has unveiled the cover art alongside the track listing for Sterilize. This new update will give fans a taste of what’s to come and give them something to hold on to while they wait for the album release.
With the release of Sterilize, Unsane makes a vicious return to the music scene. Sterilize will close the five-year gap since the band has released new music, the last time was the 2012 release of their Wreck LP through Alternative Tentacles.
The new record “recalls the most defining elements of the band’s seminal albums, surging with their unrelenting singular sound created by guitarist/vocalist Chris Spencer, bassist/vocalist Dave Curran, and drummer Vinnie Signorelli.” The band’s own Dave Curran help record and produce the record at Gatos Trail Studios in Yucca Valley, California. Andrew Schneider of Mutoid Man and Cave helped mixed it at Acre in New York City.
In a recent press release states that “Sterilize showcases Unsane sounding as dense and damaging as ever, and sees them remaining as necessary as ever, nearly three decades since they began.”
The cover art for the new album features blood splatter across the front.

A run of stateside tour dates has been announced to advance the release of Sterilize. Starting July 15th, Unsane will will trek across US with Fashion Week providing support for the entire tour which will end August 3rd.
