Glass Animals @ Greek Theatre 9/22

English indie rockers Glass Animals are heading into Berkeley this fall. Say goodbye to summer with this show, which will be at the Greek Theatre on September 22nd. This will be one of many stops throughout North America and previously hitting up Europe.

The Oxford natives came together to form their band in 2012. The band’s most recent release came last year in 2016 when they dropped their second studio album How to Be a Human. That album is known for the four singles released Life Itself, Youth, Season 2 Episode 3, and Pork Soda. That album was met with critical acclaim. Previous to that the band has released two EPs and their debut album Zaba in 2014. Other hit songs the band is known for include Gooey, Black Mambo, Hazey, Pools, Psylla, and Exxus. Glass Animals’ sound has been described as psychedelic pop within the indie genre. The vocals of Dave Bayley and the bevy of musical instruments that surround his voice make for an interesting auditory ride for the audience. The music is slow, sultry, and emotional; lyrically the band has sound, interesting, and well composed songs. Interestingly, the band’s latest collab came alongside artist Joey Bada$$ with the song Lose Control, which is the most interesting mashup of music and sound. I guarantee it’s worth a listen.

Fans of STRFKR, alt-J, or Mac Demarco will be into this band. They have been touring a ton since the release of their debut album, so these guys know how to put on a live show. Their live shows are full of energy, fan favorite songs, and community among their longtime fans. So, grab a ticket and enjoy some sweet, sweet music.
