Ashanti @ Concord Pavilion 9/3

R&B singer Ashanti will be hanging in the bay this fall! She will be performing at the Concord Pavilion on September 3rd. She will be one of the many performers at the Hot Summer Night Concert; other performers include Ja Rule, Mase, Monica, and Brandy. Sounds like the perfect 90’s throwback night, right?

Ashanti has been a part of the framework for the current R&B genre, she busted into the scene back in 2001 and made her voice and her talent recognizable. The most recent release from the songstress came in 2014 with her fifth studio album Braveheart. This album is known for the songs I Got It, Early In The Morning, Never Should Have, and Love Games. Previous to that the she has released four other studio albums and 22 singles. Alongside her frequent collaborator, Ja Rule, the two artists were featured on the hit album The Hamilton Mixtape, which is a hip-hop version of the award winning Broadway musical Hamilton. They covered the song Helpless. Other popular songs the singer is known for is her breakout single Foolish, Rock Wit U, The Way That I Love You, Only U, Baby, and Rain On Me. She is also featured on the popular and successful hit songs such as Nelly’s Body On Me, Fat Joe’s What’s Luv?, Ja Rule’s Always On Time, Happy, and Mesmerize, Lloyd’s Southside, and Usher’s Wonderful. Ashanti recently announced that she was working on her sixth studio album and that a single for it would be releasing sometime this year.

Fans of Keyshia Cole, Aaliyah, and Ciara will be down for this show, heck anyone who grew up in the early 90s or 2000s will be down for this blast from the past lineup. Come listen to some classic R&B and kick it down in east bay!
