Tegan and Sara Announce Fall 2017 The Con: X Tour Dates

Tegan & Sara have spent the last 20 years working hard to make a name for themselves so when they released The Con in 2007, their name was forever burned in the hearts of fans everywhere. Even though The Con was their fifth album to be released, it seemed like the band had found their muse within songs like “Back in Your Head”, “Nineteen,” “Burn Your Life Down” and the title track, “The Con.”

In honor of the 10th anniversary of the release of The Con, Tegan & Sara are celebrating by providing fans with two special projects this year. The first project is the announcement of the Con X Tour. The tour will have the two sisters traveling across North America to perform acoustic arrangements of all 14 songs from the album. Not only will the two perform the album in order but they will also perform other classics from their music fault.

Tegan & Sara made a statement on their official website stating “As we look back today, the first few records of our career felt like we were navigating winding mountain roads. But with The Con it was obvious we had turned a corner and hit an open stretch of highway – The album was written about love, death, fear and anxiety, and 10 years later we continue to be amazed by how much it touched people. Much of it hasn’t been performed live in nearly a decade so it’s with great pleasure that we take these beloved songs back to the stage.”

Tegan & Sara are comprised of identical twin sisters who formed their band back in 1995 in Calgary, Alberta and have been together, making music ever since. Their fanbase has continued to grow and build over the course of 20 years. Throughout their musical career, the two have released eight studio albums and multiple EPs. The Con, Tegan & Sara’s fifth album was released in 2007 by Vapor and Sire. The album was at number 34 on the Billboard 200 and included two single hits, “Back in Your Head,” and “The Con.” Their eighth album, Love You to Death was released back in June 3, 2016 and earned the duo a Grammy nomination.

Some of the tour dates include places like; San Diego, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Minneapolis, Detroit, Brooklyn, Boston, Upper Darby, Atlanta and Austin. More locations and dates will continue to be added so fans of Tegan & Sara should continue to check out their website.

Tickets for the tour will be available this Friday and can be purchased on their official website. Some of the profits from the tour will go to benefit the Tegan & Sara Foundation which focuses on economic justice, health, and representation for LGBTQ girls and women.

Tegan & Sara are one of those rare bands that have stayed true to their art and have remained consistent over the course of their musical career. Their 10 anniversary of The Con is just proof that Tegan & Sara will continue to provide fans with music and love for years to come.
