Washed Out Announces New Album Mister Mellow with Album-Length Visual Component for June 2017 Release

Ernest Greene, better known to fans as Washed out, is coming out with a project that will be equally as pleasing to the eyes as it will be to the ears. He will be dropping a visual album on June 30 via Stones Throw Records entitled Mister Mellow, that will feature twelve new tracks and a visual component to compliment the auditory experience.

The upcoming LP with explore theme regarding the unnecessary struggle young adults put themselves through, taking for granted all the parts of life that actually enrich us, and focusing on distractions such as drugs or social media.

According to a press release about Mister Mellow, “Most young adults’ perception of their own lives are overblown and overdramatized to the point of absurdity – as are the many ways they distract themselves from the insecurities faced on a daily basis. Mister Mellow shines a light on the humor found in this paradox – how we can be so bored and unhappy in what is often a very privileged, contented life?”

The visual aspect to the album will prove to be extraordinarily entertaining, using many different forms of animation including collage, claymation, hand-drawn, and stop motion. You can check below to peep the complete tracklist and album art.

Washed out will be collaborating and curating with Gorilla vs Bear for the GVSB Festival, set to take place on August 12 in Deep Ellum, TX. Count on seeing Washed out as one of the main headliners and likely perform Mister Mellow.
