Diet Cig Release New Song “Together We Can Conquer Whatever” from American Girl – Summer Camp, Friends for Life

Fresh off of the release of their debut full-length Swear I’m Good At This, Diet Cig has dropped a non-album single in the form of the breezy “Together We Can Conquer Whatever.” The song is being released in conjunction with an Amazon special, American Girl – Summer Camp, Friends for Life. The movie is the third in the American Girl series, following An American Girl Story — Maryellen 1955: Extraordinary Christmas and An American Girl Story – Ivy & Julie 1976: A Happy Balance. Those two films featured exclusive new music from Best Coast and Foxygen, making the up-and-coming New York pop punk duo a perfect fit in the series.

The jangling octave chord progression of chorus offers an upbeat backdrop for Alex Luciano’s sugarcoated vocals and lyrically the song offers the listener an empowering message of friendship, matching the theme of the summer-based movie. Luciano explained in a press release that she was particularly inspired by the intelligence and nuance of the young woman portrayed in the special and “Together We Can Conquer Whatever” is their attempt at capturing that energy and intelligence in song form.

The song was written and recorded in just two days, with Luciano and drummer Noah Bowman jumping at the opportunity to contribute to American Girl – Summer Camp, Friends for Life. An Amazon Original Special, the movie stars Zoe Manarel and Alison Fernandez at Z and Paz, respectively. The two girls attend a tech-based summer camp where a mysterious adventure unfolds, putting their teamwork to the test – so get ready for some really uplifting viewing.

The song can be purchased on both of Amazon’s music stores, Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music.

“Together We Can Conquer Whatever” is Diet Cig’s second song released this week; a video for “Barf Day” dropped on June 6. The band is busy touring, catch this dynamic duo as they make their way across the East Coast and then cross the Atlantic.
