One of the headliners of Lollapalooza, Foster the People will perform a set at The Vic on August 2nd before the festival.
The indie pop group from Los Angeles formed in 2009 and two years later, they had achieved massive commercial success with the release of their debut album. Torches produced several smash hits including the ubiquitous “Pumped Up Kicks”, “Helena Beat” and “Houdini”. Part of their success can be attributed to the fact that the band is able to cross genres and their songs charted on several lists. “Pumped Up Kicks” was named the year’s anthem by SPIN magazine and earned the band three Grammy nominations. Their second album, Supermodel, was released in 2014.
The group’s lineup consists of Mark Foster, lead vocalist/guitarist, Sean Cimino on drums/backing vocals, Isom Innis on guitar/piano/keyboard and Mark Pontius on the piano/keyboard/percussion. All members of the group contribute to the vocals which helps give them their unique sound.
