Tegan and Sara will kick off their Lollapalooza weekend with a performance at Park West as part of the Official Lollapalooza Aftershow.
The identical twin sisters hail from Canada and were exposed to music at a young age; they both began playing instruments and writing songs around 15 years old. The synth/indie pop duo saw their mainstream success come with their album Hearthrob and most notably, the lead single “Closer”. The song reached number 1 on the rock and alternative album charts. The duo has since released a total of eight studio albums; most recently Love You To Death which came out last year.
Tegan and Sara founded a foundation in their name which seeks to fight for economic justice, health and representation for LGBTQ girls and women. This act was specifically in response to the 2016 presidential election. Earlier this year, the duo, along with Kiehl’s cosmetics to raise funds for the foundation and most recently met with professionals to discuss the issues the foundation focuses on.
Chances are, you didn’t get tickets to Lollapalooza. So come out and see their set at Park West the night before.
