Arcade Fire Selling 12″ Single “Everything Now” at Primavera, Teasing New Album Infinite Content

Earlier today, Canadian indie rock figureheads Arcade Fire had made various tweaks across their social media presence, i.e. changing their Twitter profile picture, wiping their official Instagram account, making tweets about “infinite content,” you know, the works. And without much time for speculation, the band has quickly followed through with new single “Everything Now,” which they are selling on 12″ at Primavera, where they will be performing on Saturday.

The song follows a soon deleted tweet made by Vancouver radio station 102.7 The Peak, which said new music was on the way this Friday.

Also, yesterday, well-recognized fan blog Arcade Fire tube shared a couple short video clips featuring retro globe logos with the word “Now” and the initials “EN.” According to Arcade Fire tube, the clips were first tweeted to it from a Russian-language feed called @ArcadeFireTuba (ha), which used the display name “Sasha M” and a Star Wars stormtrooper icon. That Twitter account has since been suspended. Presumably the “EN” stood for “Everything Now.” A new tumblr account had even been created, everything-now, which sported the same globe imagery.

Fans have gone on to discover posters with the globe logo in both Montreal and London.

All of this excitement comes after Arcade Fire had reportedly debuted new music earlier this month at a no cell-phones secret show in Montreal, which was the followup to another secret show that was held in New Orleans in October of last year.

In addition, a South African casting agency apparently leaked news of the band’s new music video last week, when it publicly congratulated one of its child actors on winning a part.

After a couple months without any news following January’s “I Give You Power” single, featuring Mavis Staples, hopefully Everything Now will be everything it claims to be.
