Avey Tare, and Animal Collective who have announced their EP “The Painters” and shared track for a February release, announced has been sending mysterious jigsaw puzzles to a selected fans about the new album.
The package came from Domino Recording Company. The fans were given a plain square box, which wasn’t ordered but just sent. The inside front, the right side, the back and the left side of the box all contain names. There is also a plastic bag inside of the box that contains puzzle pieces.
These photos include pictures of boxes with the sides having possible song titles and pieces that shows the album cover when put together. According to Stereogum, these possible song titles are “Lunch Out Of Order Pt 1″,“Lunch Out Of Order Pt 2″, “Jackson 5″, “Dr Aw One For J”, “PJ”, “Right Side Of The Box”, “In Pieces”, “Selection Of A Place”, “Boat Race”, “Roamer”, “Coral Lords”, “Sports In July”, “When You Left Me”, “Season High”, “Melody Unfair”, and “Ms. Secret”. The title cover could be possibly named Eucalyptus along with the features, with orchestration from Eyvind Kang, vocals from Angel Deradoorian and Jessika Kenney, and pedal steel by Susan Alcorn.
UPDATE (6/8): The artist has officially announced the album’s artwork and track list, which are listed below. The album was written and produced by the artists and recorded by Josh Dibb, a member of Animal Collective. A recent press release states that the album is “recommended listening for dawn or dusk. An electroacoustic movement through leaves, rocks and dust. Written on sunlit bedroom afternoon in Los Angeles, practiced in the dark early hours of the California twilight, and slept on under Big Sur skies.” A deluxe double-LP edition will put the the record together on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl and a 16-page lyric booklet featuring marbled artwork by Paige Cleveland of Rule of Three Studio.
