RIP Gregg Allman Dead at 69

We bring you sad news today as southern rock pioneer Gregg Allman passed away today at the age of just 69, LA Times reports.  He was the person who helped lift the Allman Brothers Band to prominence.

A specific cause of death is unknown since Allman suffered a variety of health issues in recent years.

Allman’s band became a popular touring band with him as  the front man, his brother Duane on guitar and two drummers as well. Allman had a fantastic career being known as the blues every man. Throughout his extensive career he unfortunately has lots of heartache after losing his brother in a motorcycle accident to six un-successful marriages. His highs were very high and his lows were very low.

The story of the band became such a caution tale that they were the primary source of material for the band depicted in Cameron Crowe’s 2000 rock film “Almost Famous.”

He canceled a tour in 2016 due to poor health, but back in early 2017, sources denied rumors that he was under hospice care. No matter the cause, we can all agree that Allman was a blues legend was lost today and of course MXDWN sends our thoughts to his family, friends and beloved fans.
