Ever since last November, our country has slowly been burying itself further and further into the ground with our leader, Donald Trump holding the shovel. Because of the hilarity of our country’s situation, let’s take a step back and marvel at the cleverness that is the band, Anal Trump and their latest ep.
The duo that consists of Cattle Decapitation’s Travis Ryan and Pinback’s Rob Crow, was inspired by another grindcore band with the similar name of Anal Cunt. Like the latter band, Anal Trump is a clever name that fits the band’s political grindcore music. Just like their previous album, titled That Makes Me Smart, which featured 30 songs all centered around the president and his oh so insightful knowledge of the world around him, their brand new ep is also cleverly named which they have titled, If You Wanted To Qualify For Health Insurance, Then Maybe You Shouldn’t Have Gotten Raped? Both albums have political induced songs with creative and clever titles that will have everyone fans and non fans giggle over. The political tongue and cheek wording may hit a nerve with some, there is a large chance that it will only strike a chord with Trump and his cult followers.
By a small chance that one finds themselves not a fan of the band, Anal Trump, one can look on the bright side of the new ep. Benefits of the sales from the ep, 100% of the net profits, to be precise, will go to helping the organization Rainn.org. RAINN, which stands for Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, is the largest organization dedicated to helping victims of sexual assault. Founded in 1994 by Scott Berkowitz, RAINN is an organization that has programs with a mission to prevent sexual assault, helps victims and helps to ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. The organization also created and runs the National Sexual Assault Hotline which is a 24-hour, toll-free phone service. A service that connects callers automatically and anonymously to RAINN-associated rape crises. It is partnered with 1,000 local sexual assault service providers all across the country. The thought that all proceeds will go to RAINN, will no doubt make people want to purchase the new album.
