Jonah Matranga of Far and J. Robbins of Jawbox Form Camorra and Release New Song “Roosevelt Champion III”

Jonah Matranga from alternative rock band Far and J.Robbins from Jawbox have come together to form an impressive rock collaboration called Camorra and have already released their first song as a band. The brand new track entitled “Roosevelt Champion III,” is passionate and incredibly easy on the ears, as it’s equal parts of melodic and complex. The new song will be featured on their upcoming EP called “Mourning, Resistance, Celebration,” which is supposed to be released on July 14th via Arctic Rodeo.

According to the group’s record label’s official website, “The music from these two sessions came about as most collaborations do: reputations preceded meetings, longstanding and mutual fandom reared its head, third parties preemptively made their introductions, and some months later recordings were made.”

Notes by Katy Otto that describes Camorra’s music says, “We are a world starving for dignity, empathy, and justice. In order to keep working for these things, our souls need to be shored up. The plaintive songs on this album beg for that, for all of us.”

The website also provides interesting information on how Matranga and Robbins met; through their mutual friend who was working on an album with each of their collaboration efforts.
