A Look Back: Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell Perform Final Duet Singing “Hunger Strike” at Bridge School Benefit in 2014

We are all extremely sadden by the death of beloved Chris Cornell, Soundgarden front man. He was legend for sure and here at MXDWN we have been looking back on some of the many highlights of his career.

This time we look back on 2014, and his performance with Eddie Vedder and their final duet of “Hunger Strike,” at the Bridge school benefit as Rolling Stone discusses. During the set, Vedder asked the crowd on the second night. “There’s a lot of types of singers. How about a Chris Cornell-type?” and sure enough the dueted just like it was 1990 again.

This ended up become a duet of one of the greatest songs of the 90’s and for many put Vedder on the map as a force to reckoned within the music world.

Vedder did not appear on the band’s brief tour so this video was the last time that their voices would ever be meshed like this.

Vedder recently entered into the Rock N’ Roll hall of fame with Pearl Jam, and of course Cornell is being remembered as one of the music greats.
