Kap G @ 1015 Folsom 8/2

Come check out ya boy Kap G when he comes into the city this summer! He will be playing 1015 Folsom on August 2nd, the perfect way to start out your month. The rapper will be embarking on his Supa Jefe tour alongside opener J.R Donato. Kap G will be hitting up various spots in the Bay, you can check him out in Santa Cruz or Sacramento if this date doesn’t work with your schedule.

Kap G aka George Ramirez is an up and coming Mexican-American rapper. The 22 year old recently dropped his most recent mixtape, SupaJefe this year. Popular songs from the release include Girlfriend, I See You, Freakin ‘N’ Geekin, and CEO. Previous to that the rapper has released six other mixtapes that span from 2014 to 2016. Six releases in three years? Yeah that is impressive. Kap G has also collabed with prominent artists like Chris Brown on the song I See You, Pharrell Williams on Icha Girls, Ty Dolla $ign on Girlfriend, and many others. He’s coming out hard for a youngster and he’s commanding respect with how well his music has been doing. Kap G’s Mexican heritage plays a huge role in his music, it influences his lyrics, the titles of all his mixtapes feature Spanish words, and he reps his heritage proudly. Kap G’s rap style is a mix of trap music and Mexican tongue in cheek lyrics, like his song Jose Got Dem Tacos, La Policia, Tatted Like Amigos. The songs where he talks about his Mexican heritage or cultural pastimes aren’t horrible parodies of the culture and it’s refreshing.

Fans of Migos, Young Thug, and 21 Savage will be down for this Atlanta based rapper as he has a similar style and flow as the aforementioned rappers. California rap fans will be down for Kap G, he brings his culture, his talent, and his presence in a familiar way a la P-Lo or Logic. Catch this dude when he makes his way into 1015 Folsom if you’re down for a good time.
