The National Allegedly Releasing A New Album Titled Sleep Well Beast in September 2017

After dropping a pair of teaser videos, it appears The National is ready for another album release. According to a Twitter user, the band will release Sleep Well Beast on September 8, 2017. The poster includes what is presumably album art, the release date of September 8, the 4AD website and The National’s website. No track listing has been released yet, but keep an eye out to see if the song they premiered live at a Planned Parenthood event, “Turtleneck,” makes the grade.

It has been almost exactly four years since the Cincinnati, Ohio-based rock band released their last album, Trouble Will Find Me. However, the members have been very busy. Frontman Matt Berninger released an album with Brent Knopf of Menomena as EL VY. Bryce and Aaron Dessner have each been busy with plenty of their own projects, with Bryce gearing up for the release of Planetarium alongside Sufjan Stevens, Nico Mulhy and James McAlister.

The same user went on to post more photos of The National-related news, a 2017 tour with a show on October 8 at New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium with Daughter.

Considering the art matches up with the teaser video that was released today on the band’s Instagram site, it seems to be pretty legit. Check out the teasers below:
