Songs and photos are dangling in front of our noses until the release of Crack Up.
Robin Pecknold, the lead of the Fleet Foxes, is making it even harder to wait for the June 16 release date of their third studio album, Crack-Up. Last night, Pecknhold posted via Instagram video snippet of a song off of the highly anticipated album called, “I Am All That I Need/Arroyo Seco/Thumbprint Scar,” which he performed live for a fan listening party in Los Angeles Sunday night.
Pecknold has also given sneak peek shots for an upcoming music video, which are pointing to his brother Sean Pecknold as the director, who previously directed “Grown Ocean” and “The Shrine/An Argument” for the Fleet Foxes. Pecknold posted gorgeous nature back drops and dancers dressed in vibrant red and yellow robes, making us all eager to see what the Fleet Foxes are bringing to the table this year.
The indie folk band from Seattle, Washington blew up in 2008 after releasing their second EP, Sun Giant, which Pitchfork named the eighth best album of that year. The group followed with Helplessness Blues in 2011, which was claimed to be a deeper and stronger compellation of songs that served as a perfect sophomore album for the band. It received a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album and reached fourth on the Billboard 200 list.
Now six years later, Crack Up has a high standard to reach, Robin Pecknold’s father has assured in Instagram comments to be nothing but indie-gold. Thanks to certain genetic privileges, I have access to and have listened to the whole album over 150 times. Not tired of it yet,” Pecknold said.”
Hopefully, all of the teases and rumors will live up to the Fleet Foxes’s legacy and to the many fans who have patiently waited for Crack Up, which will hopefully be another ground-breaking album for the group.
