Governor’s Ball After-Dark: Rüfüs Du Sol @ Shimanski 6/2

New York City, it’s time to dance. On June 2 at Schimanski (which used to be Verboten) in Williamsburg, Rüfüs Du Sol will be performing. These saucy Aussies (Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hun) will be keeping the Governor’s Ball energy alive, so get ready to dance, dance, dance.

When their premiere album Atlas first dropped back in 2013 it went straight to the number 1 spot in Australia, followed by Bloom in 2016. Their electro-alternative sounds are super sexy, but their lyrics go beyond what you’d normally expect from this genre of music. Listen to “Like an Animal” when they sing “Like an animal, I still got love for you. And I’m coming home. I’m coming home for you” and “FIrst light washing up against the shore, sweet love, you’re the one that I adore.” They have something to say–and that’s what makes this trio different.

Since their debut Rüfüs Du Sol have been everywhere, performing major festivals like Panorama, Coachella, Outside Lands, and now Governor’s Ball 2017. They aren’t just down-under sensations, either–they’ve dazzled stages all over the world with their indie dance hits that aren’t crazy overwhelming and mind-busting, but instead are refined, seductive, smooth. Listen to some of their major hit songs like “You Were Right” and “Hypnotised” and get ready for a rush that you won’t be able to stand still while listening to.
