A Perfect Circle Debut New Synth-Driven Song “Hourglass” Live

After several years of silence A Perfect Circle has become active again, with a slew of live dates announced this summer and a new album on the way. According to Alternative Nation, at the band’s performance at Tulsa, OK venue BOK Center on April 22, 2017, a new song titled “Hourglass” was debuted.

While there is still a bit of a brooding vibe that is associated with A Perfect Circle’s sound, the swirling synthesizers and twinkling electronic piano give it a space-age pop feel. It is not the first new music to be heard from the Maynard James Keenan-fronted supergroup. They previously unveiled the live version of a song called “Feathers” at a show in Las Vegas.

There is still no official release date, title or track list for A Perfect Circle’s upcoming fourth LP, which will be their first in 13 years. The band last released Emotive in 2004. Founding member Billy Howerdel spoke with The Tulsa Voice about the new record, stating that he has mostly created the songs alone, sending out mixes for Keenan to work on by himself. Despite how disjointed this approach may seem, he added that it is the way that the band has always operated.
