Two generations of punk have been colliding over the last few weeks as Los Angeles garage-rockers Bleached have been opening for legendary British proto-punks The Damned. Of course, it was only a matter of time before the two artists got together and played some music together on stage.
That happened last night when the tour hit Cincinnati, OH venue Bogart’s. The ladies from Bleached came up on stage to join Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible and the rest of the crew for a riotous performance of “Born To Kill.” The track is a classic from The Damned’s landmark 1977 album Damned Damned Damned. Considering the obvious influence the band has played on the Clavin sisters bands (Bleached and earlier, Mika Miko), it was no surprise to hear them exuberantly nail the collaboration with the seminal punk rock heroes. In fact, Bleached released a cover version of the song as b-side to their single “For The Feel” back in 2014
