Melvins Announces Summer 2017 Tour Dates

American hardcore punk alternative rock band the Melvins have quite a reputation behind them, as one of the bands at the forefront of humorous and experimental rock throughout the 90s and 00s. In support of their upcoming double album A Walk With Love & Death, the band has an absolutely massive tour booked for early July to early October, all across the United States.

A Walk With Love & Death features two parts: Death, being another simple studio LP from the Melvins, and Love, the score to the Jesse Nieminen-directed, self-produced short also titled “A Walk With Love & Death” (of which a release date is yet to be found). The record will be coming out July 7th via Ipecac Recordings.

“This was a huge undertaking,” explained singer Buzz Osborne. “All three things: the album, the soundtrack and the film are benchmarks for us.” Drummer Dale Crover added, “A Walk With Love and Death is one giant, dark, moody, psychotic head trip! Not for the faint of heart. You’ll sleep with the lights on after listening.”

The tour, billed as their ‘most extensive North American tour to date,’ begins on July 5th in San Diego, two days before the record’s release, and will make its way all across the country and back until hitting Flagstaff, Arizona on October 3rd.
