In the music business, the most frustrating part for an artist is usually the business side. Often, their are law suits that appear and will not go away and due to laws no matter how ridiculous the artist feels the suit is they must spend money on a response. Demi Lovato is the subject of a lawsuit by Sleigh Bells, who alleges that she sampled their song “Infinity Guitars” on her song “Stars”. The lawsuit was originally filed in 2016, but like many lawsuits it was not settled for a while. Its safe to assume that Lovato’s camps and Sleigh Bells are happy that they have reached an agreement that will officially settle the lawsuit.

The agreement that they came to says, they “are currently in the process of memorializing the terms of the agreement.” It goes on to say, “This settlement will resolve this matter in its entirety,”

Listen to the songs below and see if you can hear the similarities.

This year Sleigh Bells can be seen by fans performing live at SXSW, and NXNE Port Land. They also gave an in-depth interview where they discussed taking their Jessica Rabbit album on tour independently.
