UNKLE Announce New Album The Road Part 1 For June 23 Release

UNKLE has revealed that he will be releasing a new album titled The Road Part 1 on June 23rd. UNKLE (James Lavelle) has had a long 25 year career being a curator, tastemaker and artist. The new album represents a collection of songs that were inspired by Lavelle’s curation of the 2014 Meltdown festival at Southbank. It was the most successful festival so far. On the journey to creating The Road Part 1, UNKLE  was able to collaborate and create with new people Jon Theodore, Justin Stanley who all make strong contributions to the new album.

In an attempt to create something fresh and new, the album was created in the UK, Los Angeles, and Europe all different places that are sure to carry different types of inspiration. Lavelle had one goal when making this album, to unite the mix of ideas, cultures and genres. Lavelle had this to say about the album.

“I hadn’t made a record in a long time, and the incarnation of UNKLE had changed in that now, it was me on my own. For that reason, I wanted to make a record that I hadn’t been able to before, going back to the roots of where I came from, with a foot in modern London.”
