Iggy Pop Releases Acoustic Dirge with New Track “Asshole Blues”

In this generation, artists are becoming more and more independent as they begin to learn more about their career. In 2015, the Miami based band, Jacuzzi Boys, started their own record label called “Mag Mag” with the hopes of relieving some of the stress that can be gained when working in the business. Now, they have set out with a new purpose to launch a new flexi disc series that will start with the release of “Asshole Blues” a single from music icon Iggy Pop.

Iggy Pop, born James Newell Osterberg Jr, began his career as a drummer in different high school bands in the 60s. His stage name is derived from a band that he was in called the Iguanas. After seeing The Doors perform live at the University of Michigan and being amazing by Jim Morrison.

He has remained active in recent years with the release of an album with Josh Homme in 2016 and he followed that up with a tour. In that same year, he released a live double album Post Pop Depression: Live At The Royal Albert Hall. Iggy will be performing at the Boogaloo festival and along with performing songs from his catalog he will also most likely perform some of his recent music like what he released in January with Danger Mouse called “Gold”.
