Fans inching towards the finale of Coachella’s 2nd night (and Lady Gaga’s set replacing the canceling Beyonce) were treated to a special surprise by way of a mini set from Lauryn Hill right in the middle of DJ Snake’s performance at the Outdoor Theatre. The legendary (and often infamous) Hill came out in a massive red robe and belted out 3 songs backed by DJ Snake and his onstage singers. Old school hip-hop heads were treated to an abbreviated rendition of the Fugees classic “Ready or Not” (for those curious of course, absent the other members of the Fugees). Then, she did most of her classic cover of the famous Lori Lieberman/Roberta Flack song “Killing Me Softly.” And lastly, she dusted off “Lost Ones” a fun track from her hit and award-winning debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It went by almost as fast as it happened, but the crowd on hand was thrilled to see her make the appearance.

For those in the Midwest area of the USA Hill is slated to perform at the St. Paul Soundset Festival alongside Travis Scott, Atmosphere and Gucci Mane. See below to watch the videos of Ms. Lauryn Hill’s performance with DJ at Coachella 2017.
