Spank Rock Joins The Avalanches’ Live Band At Coachella 2017

Rapper Spank Rock joined Australian electronic sample masters as one of the few guest appearances during the first day of Coachella 2017. The Baltimore, MD bred MC appeared on several songs from The Avalanches’ two albums, 2000’s Since You’ve Been Gone and last year’s Wildflower. The songs include “Frontier Psychiatrist” and “Frankie Sinatra,” among others. As part of the side shows that revolve around the Southern California festival, The Avalanches will play one of the few United States shows in their history at The Fonda in Hollywood in between the two Coachella weekends. The Australian group will also perform at Glastonbury Festival later this year. They will also play two shows next week in Nevada as a part of their United States tour.

For an electronic-based group like The Avalanches to present their live show with a full live band is the kind of thing that makes Coachella such a special music festival. Keep an eye out for more clips from this unique set.

As has been well-documented over the years, The Avalanches finally returned with a new album after 16 years of absence. Luckily for electronic music fans, the wait was well worth it with Wildflowerbeing among the year’s most noteworthy releases.
