Outlaw Music Festival Tour (launched by Willie Nelson last year) has announced the first handful of dates that will make you want to grow out your hair, grab a banjo, and hit the road alongside Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, and Promise of the Real. The tour, which emphasizes local food and craft beer, was born last September with a daylong concert held in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
In a statement, Nelson said of the festival, “We had such a blast launching and playing last year’s Outlaw Music Festival in Scranton, we had to take it out on the road this summer.”
After last year’s Outlaw Music Festival, we made it our mission to assemble an extraordinary lineup and bring this experience to music fans all over the country,” added Blackbird Presents CEO Keith Wortman. “I’m looking forward to more unforgettable music moments and I’m honored to be working with these incredible musicians.”
Blackbird Presents and Nelson announced Tuesday that the Outlaw Music Festival Tour will play six cities, including New Orleans and Dallas, from July 1 to July 16. The tour will also visit Rogers, Arkansas, and Syracuse, New York with tickets going on sale April 21st. Some of the dates announced will also include Bob Dylan and His Band, Margo Price, The Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, My Morning Jacket, and more!
In addition to curating the lineup for Outlaw Music Festival (as well as performing), Nelson will release his new album God’s Problem Child on April 28th, play the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California and headline a four-night stand at the Fillmore in San Francisco in May.
