According to the press release, Dreamcar, who has released a song called “Kill for Candy”, has recently released a new song called “Born To Lie”, which will be a part of their upcoming album Dreamcar releasing on May 12th.
The band is a new wave band that officially started in 2016, and is made up of members of No Doubt and AFI. According to Rolling Stone, in a recent interview, Tony Kanal had stated that “That’s the kind of music that we all grew up on. When you’re in those really formative years, from, like, 13 to 19, what you listen to is so influential, and I think that’s just part of our being now. It was never like, ‘Oh, let’s try to do this!’ It’s just the stuff that makes you feel comfortable.”
The song starts out with a light tune with guitar, bass, and drums as the verse plays out. As the band reaches the chorus the guitar, bass and drums become a little heavier. The singer speaks about a romance ruined by practicality throughout this song. The tune of the song is more alternative with a little new wave mixed. The song can be listened to below.
