Rock group Silversun Pickups are heading into The Bay this summer. They will be rolling into Berkeley on July 23rd and will be playing the Greek Theater. The band is heading on tour alongside rock band Third Eye Blind.
Silversun Pickups have one of the best lineups I think currently in a rock band. They have the best kind of variety, both a female and male vocalists, cool guitarists, and their percussionist is out of this world. The band’s most recent studio album was back in 2015 with their fourth album Better Nature. That album gave us the songs Nightlight, Circadian Rhythm, and Latchkey Kids. Previous to that their last album was in 2012 with Neck of the Woods and their 2013 EP Let It Decay. Some of their mainstream hits include Lazy Eye, Panic Switch, Seasick, and Kissing Families. The band’s versatility by switching between vocalists make for a different texture other rock bands don’t reach. Despite the switch in vocal styles, the music stays constant allowing for the band to retain a consistent sound.
Fans of The Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Airborne Toxic Event will be down for this show. Older rock fans of their co-headliners Third Eye Blind will appreciate the classic rock sound that this band brings.
