Bjork dropped an amazing video today for “Notget” from Vulnicura. The VR video direct by Warren Du Prees and Nick Thornton Jones is full of tremendously futuristic CG imagery involving an avatar of Bjork bathed in light floating in a dream world. The constant ebb and flow of growing and constantly moving organisms mesh perfectly with Bjorks avatar and her powerfully destructive vocals and the unique futuristic beat that mixes large string sections with twanging synth. The lyrics speak about death and almost give the feeling that her avatar is some immortal being or a soul stuck in purgatory. Watch the video below and make your own opinion about the 6-minute visual masterpiece.
The video was previewed in VR format at the Airwaves festival in Iceland last year. This was part of a 36-second trailer that was available to view at the Bjork Digital exhibit in Montreal. The exhibit has moved from Tokyo to London and now is settled in Montreal. You can catch the digital experience when it comes to Los Angles in May. Bjork has been a pioneer of VR and all things futuristic, introducing a plethora of new innovative ideas to incorporate in her musical experience. She recently also performed a 360º virtual reality performance of “Quicksand” at an event in Tokyo.
If you are in Los Angeles and want to see Bjork grab tickets to FYF Fest.
