Accomplished contemporary jazz musician Rachelle Ferrell is set to perform August 4th at Chicago’s City Winery.
Ferrell has been singing her entire life and was able to develop a six octave range! One of her noted talents being the ability to sing in the whistle register. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, she accepted a teaching position and worked alongside Dizzy Gillespie. The talented singer spent years singing and working with the likes of Vanessa Williams, Patti LaBelle and Lou Rawls. And just to add to her many talents, Ferrell also found time to become an accomplished pianist and violinist. The musician released her album First Instrument in 1995. The album included work by famed jazz artists like Kenny Davis and drummer Doug Nally.
