Texas’ metal band Power Trip, has released a new video for their hit single “Executioner’s Tax( Swing of the Axe) off their latest album Nightmare Logic.
Directed by VICE’s Andy Capper, the music video made its debut appearance on NOISEY. The video blends footage from a show in their hometown Dallas with what NOISEY describes as “clips of politically-ordered carnage, masked maniacs, and the orange smirk of American fascism with rough, kinetic live footage ripped straight from the dicey days of Cold War-era thrash.”
In an in-depth interview with NOISEY, Lead singer Riley Gale talks about what drives him to write politically-enraged songs such as “Executioner’s Tax( Swing of the Axe).” Gale explains “if you open your eyes you’ll see we’re being controlled by our government, by big pharma, our military-industrial complex and the corporations. If you open your eyes and see that, you’ll also see that the common person is still the majority, we can change something. We can have a revolution.”
This month Power Trip is set to kick off their West Coast leg of the tour beginning on March 28 in Colorado and closing out on April 12 in Arizona.
