Metal fans rejoice, the Blackest of the Black festival lineup has been announced and it is heavier than you could imagine. Besides the obvious appearance of Danzig attendees can expect to be graced by other staple metal acts such as Ministry, Suicidal Tendencies, Atreyu, Suicide Silence and of course Danzig. The lineup only cemented the theme of the festival; a dark and ominous heavy metal dream world taken from Glenn Danzigs demented mind.
The festival will take place at Oak Canyon in Silverado, CA on Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 26th and Saturday, May 27th. The venue will have two stages created and designed by Danzig himself that will hold the entire heavy metal lineup that can be seen below. Along with the amazing live music campers (yes campers, this is a camping event) will have access to a plethora of “sinister attractions.” The main attraction (besides the amazing lineup) is Castle Danzig a fully immersive walkthrough experience based on his graphic novels that will include a suspension stage, sacrifice altar, bondage stage, padded cell, electro stage, Drukija blood bath, freak performers and oversized Oujia board. And, yes all guests have the opportunity to not only watch but join these experiences..
Danzig has seen quiet an impressive 2016-2017 run, besides the announcement of his Blackest of the Black Festival, with the Misfits reunion last summer at Riot Fest that saw a record-breaking amount of fans attend. In addition he announced a new album release Black Laden Crown that will contain all new music for the first time since 2010’s Deth Red Sabaoth. And lastly don’t forget this summer is the 25th anniversary of the classic Danzig lll: How The Gods Kill and Danzig has said he will perform a limited amount of shows in commemoration.
