The Chain Gang of 1974 Announces New Album Felt for June 2017 Release

The Chain Gang of 1974 has recently announced their new album FELT, which will be released on June 23rd through Caroline Records.

The Chain Gange of 1974 is a project that was created by Kamtin Mohager, and surrounds the genre of synth-pop. According to the press release, the artist worked with Thom Powers, who takes the role of vocals and guitar in The Naked and Famous, to produce FELT. The two had met during tour in 2012, but their bond grew more in 2015.

With the artist has stated, “These songs represent me as a human being.  They’re as honest than anything I have ever done in the past.” The artist has also stated “I knew that in order for Chain Gang of 1974 to continue, I had to begin exploring new sounds, and to push my boundaries even further.” Mohager has demonstrated this new sound by bringing a wide range of emotions with songs that bring up topics of love, heartbreak, infidelity, addiction, death and family. When the song “Wallflower” premiered through Alternative Press, Mohager had said “After 10 years of having this project, I believe that FELT sounds exactly like what Chain Gang Of 1974 is supposed to sound like. I have always been a believer in progression, and I have always made it a point that every record of mine has something different to offer. This is the first one for me that is the perfect blend of honesty and accessibility.” The single can be heard below.

The album will contain nine songs. Within these nine songs, “Looking For Love” will be a collaboration with Alisa Xayalith. The artwork and tracklist are listed below.
