Well, that was fast.
After teasing something on his social media profiles today, Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar returns with a new song, “The Heart Part 4.” Could it also be a precursor to a fourth LP, following the “b-side” release of the incredibly-strong untitled unmastered. in 2016. Really, the news is not coming out of nowhere, as he did talk about his new album back at the beginning of the month, talking about going back to the community for the release.
There are references to the album in the lyrics to the song, including “Dropped one classic / Came right back / Another classic / Right back / My next album, the whole industry on the ice pack,” and a little more veiled, “Y’all got ’til April the 7th to get y’all shit together.”
Could a new Kendrick Lamar album be two weeks away?
