Royal Trux, who will be performing at SXSW Music Festival, has recently announced their new album Platinum Tips & Ice Cream which will be out on June 16th on Drag City.
According to Stereogum, this album is the band’s first in 17 years. This follows two years after the band got back together to play show at the Berserktown II Festival in Los Angeles.
According to the press release the twelve track album is said to “conjure the early feral spirit of the band devouring the sophisticated sound of the later years and coughing up a motherfucking hairball of sound!” This album was revealed to be recording in the two days before the band’s get together at the live performance. This recording was all live which will include “the scabrous tone of Jennifer’s vox” and “Neil’s harsh, stinging guitar volleys.”
