CASH Music is an online organization devoted to providing web tools to working musicians and this past January they announced the arrival of CASH Music Family, a new initiative designed to fund the website while providing donors with a curated stream of digital downloads, special videos, exclusive merchandise, and other content. CASH Music executive director Jesse von Doom described the service on CASH’s blog:

“Imagine a Twitter feed filled with nothing but rad music with sample downloads and purchase/stream links”

CASH Music Family debuted a post from Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn in which he wrote about the books, music, and television he has connected with while touring with Japandroids this winter.

Some of the artists involved are Neko Case, Thurston Moore, Sleater-Kinney’s Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss, the Haxan Cloak, the Hold Steady’s Craig Finn, Okkervil River’s Will Sheff, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, Jon Wurster (Superchunk, The Mountain Goats), Brendan Canty (Deathfix, Fugazi), and more.

The site is also giving members the power to vote on the direction of CASH’s publication Watt and which artists will receive funding through their Revolving Fund. Check out the CASH Music Family website for more information about the initiative.
